This gentle class format offers a genuine practice for "any body". Students who need gentler options
will be encouraged to stretch, breathe and enjoy opening to a practice that embraces their
unique needs and abilities. Care and consideration will always be made to focus on a person's need for gentler options, such as
modifications to adapt posture for the body type, injuries or health conditions.
Students who maintain a regular practice without physical restrictions will also be able to benefit from this class also. Attention will be paid to their natural strengths and flexibilities, opening up areas that need more attention, while strengthening postures, alignment and endurance.
All students will be developing their practice in a non-performance based atmosphere. Emphasis will be placed on proper breathing and going to "the edge" safely within ones own natural abilities.
All students need their own yoga mat to practice on. I do provide props to assist students into postures that are challenging to them such as foam blocks, cotton yoga straps, and bolsters.

Hatha Yoga
FALL 2019
Friday 6-7:30pm - New Teacher! Brittany Sheridan
Just getting started in Yoga, or you used to do Yoga but have had a lapse in your practice? Join us in any Hatha class and be introduced to a wide variety of seated postures as well as standing (Triangle, Warrior) and balancing (Tree, Eagle) as well as a many forward and gentle backward bends. Hatha literally translates into Ha - Meaning Sun and Tha - Meaning Moon. Hatha Yoga is then the Yoga for balancing both energies in your body, mind and spirit. Students who are familiar with basic poses will gradually increase the length they hold poses as well as explore more advanced options within the same asana. Students of all levels of experience work at their own level of comfort in class, and beginners are offered many options so that they can develop their practice in a non-performance based atmosphere.
